Celebrating our Local Government Support…Proclamations!

A Breastfeeding Family Friendly Community begins with a supportive government, and we are grateful for the support of our Towns – Town of Carrboro, Town of Chapel Hill, and Town of Hillsborough! Their commitment to breastfeeding family friendly communities is evident in their proclamations.

On Tuesday, April 27, 2021, the Town of Carrboro re-proclaimed its commitment to Breastfeeding Family Friendly Communities. The Proclamation was read by Mayor Lydia Lavelle, and Shawna Daniels, a Breastfeed Orange NC team member, represented the initiative. Read more about the Proclamation here. On Wednesday, April 21, 2021, the Town of Chapel Hill continued its commitment to Breastfeeding Family Friendly Communities! During the Board of Commissioners meeting on February 8, 2021, Town of Hillsborough Commissioner, Mark Bell, presented a Proclamation declaring Hillsborough a Breastfeeding Family Friendly Community.
