Breastfeed Orange NC is a community-wide program to impact Health Equity. Everyone is welcome to join the Breastfeed Orange NC team. We bring together families, advocates, and stakeholders from diverse backgrounds, community groups, organizations, agencies, and institutions.

Engage in the Community!
Breastfeed Orange NC is creating a healthier, more breast/chestfeeding family friendly community by advocating for lactation-friendly policies and practices, as outlined by the Ten Steps to Breastfeeding Family Friendly Communities Designation.
We engage with community members in a number of ways. Sign up to share your interest in one or more areas. Or you can learn more about these opportunities by emailing Kathleen at orangenc@breastfeedingcommunities.org or by coming to a meeting.
- Town Governments
- Promote welcome signage throughout the community
- Healthcare: Pediatric and Family Medicine Clinics and Offices
- Promote the Employer and Community Partner award
- Support healthcare clinics & offices to complete the local Clinic Award
- Businesses
- Reach out to businesses to complete the Community Partner and Employer award;
- Provide rack cards and other information, as needed
- Education
- Work with childcare programs and local school districts to include books & curricula that show and normalize chest/breastfeeding
