at the
Hillsborough Main Library!
Orange County Public Library is celebrating World Breastfeeding Week and National Breastfeeding Month at the Main Library in Hillsborough with a wonderful display of books and resources. Curated by the Orange County Public Library Adult Services Librarians, the exhibit includes:
• An information sheet about World Breastfeeding Week (#wbw2026) – Breastfeeding for a Sustainable Start in Life: Strengthen What Works.
• Informational rack cards with local resources:
– from Breastfeed Orange NC, in English and Spanish, offering local lactation support resources and information.
– from Orange County Partnership for Young Children providing breastfeeding-friendly childcare information.
• Resource books to support you on your nursing journey – as you are getting started, or when you are experiencing unexpected challenges, and even when things are going smoothly.
• Fiction books that share journeys of love intertwined with breastfeeding!
This amazing selection of books and resources, including the Breastfeed Orange NC rack cards, can be found on an endcap in the Adult Fiction section. Happy End-of-Summer Reading!
Also included in the display is the Breastfeeding-Friendly Books informational flyer. Breastfeed Orange NC compiled a list of many breastfeeding-friendly book options listed by categories.
Some of the books show nursing as part of the daily life of a family.
Some of the books include many different kinds of mammals feeding their young.
Some of the books are all about breastfeeding and feeding human milk, written for a young child.
Check out the book list, and feel free to download the information. Happy reading!
Thank you to the Orange County Public Library!
