This is an inclusive and affirming health fair that is centered around the Queer experience of growing their families. No matter the route – be it through adoption, gestation, surrogacy, fostering or more nontraditional paths – the journey can be complicated. The health fair brings together supportive organizations in the field of assisting families along the way.
Hosted by Breastfeed Durham’s LGBTQ+ Committee and sponsored by MAAME, Inc., Rainbow Collective for Change, LGBTQ Center of Durham, & Family Care, PA, the Queer Family Planning Health Fair is dedicated to educating and supporting LGBTQ+ family planning and human milk feeding. The health fair features panel discussions (see schedule below), information booths, public Q&A, and community-building activities. There also will be a “rock-‘n-rest” area.
