Online Training Series: Infant & Young Child Feeding in Emergencies!

The North Carolina Breastfeeding Coalition (NCBfC) SAFE Infant Feeding Team is offering a free Infant and Young Child Feeding in Emergencies (IYCF-E) training opportunity.

Emergencies and natural disasters can happen anywhere, at any time – [and] so can everyday crises. Is your community prepared to safeguard your most vulnerable residents — babies and young children — when the unexpected happens?

Nourishing Resilience: SAFE Infant Feeding in Crisis

This new 11-month virtual training series, “Nourishing Resilience: SAFE Infant Feeding in Crisis,” is a grant-funded educational opportunity designed for healthcare providers, first responders, emergency workers, lactation and childbirth professionals, community health workers, volunteers, and anyone invested in emergency preparedness for infants and young children. It is entirely virtual, highly interactive, and will give you the tools, frameworks, and confidence to support feeding during emergencies in your own communities.

Sessions begin on Tuesday, September 9, and will continue on the second Tuesday of each month at 1 PM until July 2026.
