National Hispanic/Latinx Heritage Month-Celebration and Resources

National Hispanic Heritage Month, September 15 to October 15, recognizes and celebrates Hispanic/Latinx contributions and influences to the history, culture, and accomplishments of the United States.

We also remember that Hispanic/Latinx families may be facing challenges in meeting the needs of their infants and young children.  For instance, did you know that more than 80% of Hispanic/Latinx infants start out breastfeeding; however, only about 24% are exclusively breastfed at six months? Barriers exist for families to meet their infant feeding intentions!

Breastfeeding Orange NC joins Orange County communities in the celebration this month! We also hope that these community resources and information will help to support Hispanic/Latinx families.
