Did you know? Most parents today initiate breastfeeding in the hospital; however, many will stop breastfeeding within a few days or weeks after leaving the hospital due to social or community pressures. Breastfeed Orange NC advocates for breast/chestfeeding and human milk feeding families and provides support, education, and resources to help our community to become breastfeeding friendly.
Breastfeeding is essential for maternal and child health. Exclusive breastfeeding has been called “The Great Equalizer”, because it impacts health equity outcomes at all ages and stages of life. We expand on that important statement to say that breast/chestfeeding goes a long way to cancel out the health inequities in our community.
