National Breastfeeding Month continues, and we continue to say
THANK YOU!
Orange County Partnership for Young Children
The Orange County Partnership for Young Children (OCPYC) is a vital advocate and supporter of Breastfeed Orange NC, as part of the implementation team and through their community outreach and resources, especially to child care programs in our community.
Reach out to OCPYC for resources to support your lactating families and employees!

Piedmont Health Services
In 2024, Piedmont Health Services (PHS) stepped up to facilitate the work of Breastfeed Orange NC.
We are excited to share that Kim Nguyen, who recently took on the role of facilitator for Breastfeed Orange NC at PHS, will be presenting at an event today to celebrate Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) Breastfeeding Week. The event is hosted by the US Breastfeeding Committee AANHPI Caucus. Learn more about the event below.
In addition, the PHS WIC team was recognized this spring for their support for lactating families, receiving the USDA WIC Breastfeeding Gold Award of Excellence for Exemplary Breastfeeding Support and Practices.

Carolina Global Breastfeeding Institute
The Carolina Global Breastfeeding Institute (CGBI), part of the UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health, was instrumental in developing the Ten Steps and piloting the original initiative - Breastfeeding Family Friendly Communities in Chapel Hill and Carrboro.
CGBI continues to support the initiative through resources, advocacy, and their work with students in the Mary Rose Tully Training Institute and the student organization, BEBES. We are grateful for their support. |
